About Me

Claudia Gohn is a documentary filmmaker and journalist based between New York and Virginia. After graduating from Columbia University in 2022 with a B.A. in English and Hispanic Studies, she began her career as a Post-Baccalaureate Fellow at Barnard College's Media Center. In that role, Claudia managed the production studio, developed creative workshops, and contributed to social media strategies, alongside other administrative responsibilities. Currently, she serves as a Multimedia and Video Producer and Teaching Assistant at Barnard.

Claudia graduated in May with an M.S. at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. Her reporting at the school included coverage of the Astoria neighborhood in Queens, the Cameroonian diaspora in the United States, and immigration and housing rights in the city.

As a freelance journalist, Claudia’s bylines have appeared in Rolling Stone, Al Jazeera English, C-VILLE Weekly, and SwimSwam. She is also the co-founder and co-Editor-in-Chief of Grassroots Magazine NYC, a publication dedicated to reporting on community-led activism and grassroots movements.

In her free time, Claudia enjoys reading, making friendship bracelets, and watching reality television.
